Reflecting Before our Vietnam Motorcycle Adventure

We circled up to pause and take 3 big breaths together on the morning we began our 4-day motorcycle adventure around the mountains. I felt the group’s nervousness, so wanted to reassure them that it’d all be worthwhile.

They booked the tour for a reason. They wanted an adventure. Well…they’re getting it, rain or shine!

The Ha Giang Loop is not just a road. It’s a spiritual experience.

Sometimes, a challenge.

A test, a mirror, and most definitely…a gift.

The mountains out here are wild and they don’t promise perfect conditions.

But that’s part of the magic.

Nature isn’t here to perform for us or show up how we want it to.

We’re here to meet it exactly as it is, and be a witness.

So as we begin this journey together, I want to invite all of us to hold the light. To stay open. To stay positive. To remember that some of the most powerful moments happen when things aren’t perfectly comfortable.

Every twist in the road is part of the adventure we came here for.

And today is especially meaningful, because it’s International Women’s Day.

6 years ago on this day - I completed my first motorcycle journey through Vietnam. I came here in March 2020 by myself, right before the world shut down from covid. I did a 2 day journey with just me and a guide. I was on a manual motorcycle, and I faced my fears of not being able to do it.

What I got from that experience shaped me forever. I was so proud to be a woman, able to tackle any challenges I had to.

After it, I realized the corporate job I had was too demanding and stressful, so I left it with courage.

And then, I realized my marriage was no longer aligned, so I left it with courage.

I built this tour company with the same courage I mustered to do all those other hard things.

Because life is too short not to face your fears and just go for what you want.

This motorcycle journey reminds me every time I think about it that I’m as strong as I let myself be. And you are too, if you just let yourself be.

Traveling like this, supporting one another, lifting each other up, and exploring the world with open hearts is a powerful way to honor that spirit.

So…

We ride with courage.

We ride with curiosity.

We ride with gratitude.

…And we ride together.

If the weather shifts, let it be part of our story.

Laugh through it, breathe through it, and take it all in. Years from now, these moments will be what you remember: the raw, real, beautiful times.

Thank you for joining me this time around. I promise it’ll be worth it.

Vietnam, let’s ride!
