Let’s go to South Africa

September 4 - 10, 2026

7 Days of animal encounters & the Magic of Africa’s wilderness

Ready for a full immersion into the wild? This safari adventure is meant to get you out of your routine and into the powerful and unforgettable nature of South Africa - join us to witness one of the most iconic wildlife regions on Earth.

We begin our adventure with a stunning drive through Blyde River Canyon, taking in gorgeous canyon viewpoints at sunset, visiting waterfalls, and an optional bungee jump for the adrenaline junkies.

Then, our journey to Kruger National Park is stepping straight into big game territory: where golden sunsets illuminate the active wildlife you’ve learned about in textbooks but haven’t witnessed with your eyes quite like this.

Over the next several days, we experience the bush in ways most travelers never do. We walk through it on foot with armed rangers, learning to track animals and read the land. We head out in our own private safari vehicle, actively searching for lions, leopards, and other predators alongside a local specialist. And after dark, we take it even further by using thermal technology on a rare night safari to witness the nocturnal world most people never get to see.

We sleep in unfenced private reserves where the experience becomes quieter, closer, and spiritual. Animals moves freely nearby, often visiting us right in front of camp as we barbecue our tasty dinners. You don’t want to miss this!

Trip Itinerary:

Day 1: (Sept. 4) We’ll all arrive into Johannesburg and our team will arrange your transfer to the hotel. This is a chance to meet the group and ease into the experience together. We’ll keep it relaxed - think a casual welcome dinner, good conversation, and that excited energy before a big trip. We can make it an easy night before we head out for adventures the next morning.

Day 2: (Sept. 5) We leave the city behind and begin our journey into the wilderness! As the landscapes shift, so does the energy. Driving into the beautiful nature of Blyde River Canyon makes this day epic: Berlin Falls, Lisbon Falls, and Mac Mac Falls. Then, you have the option to add some adrenaline to your life - bungee jumping, anyone? We’ll watch the sun set from God’s Window viewpoint before turning in for the night in a sleepy small town near this nature.

Day 3: (Sept. 6) Together, we can do a little morning breathwork and stretch before heading out in our van to meet up with our safari guide at our first hotel in Kruger National Park. That day, we’ll get a chance to do a game drive with him. This area is known for predators, and with a specialist guide leading us, we’re not just hoping to see lions or leopards - we’re actively looking for them, understanding their movements, and following the signs. Once we’re back at the hotel, he will cook us a delicious South African “braai” or barbecue dinner accompanied by beers and laughs. Sometimes, you’ll even hear lions roaring nearby as we hang out in their neighborhood.

Day 4: (Sept. 7) Today, we step off the vehicle and into the wild safari on foot. Moving through the bush with armed rangers, we’ll learn how to track animals, read the land, and tune into the details most people miss. It’s quiet, grounding, and thrilling. Later, we make our way south toward the Crocodile River, where wildlife is often right outside our doorstep. Even at the lodge, there’s a good chance we’ll see animals moving along the water.

Day 5: (Sept. 8) We head out early in our private open safari vehicle, giving us the freedom to track wildlife our own way. After a break, we head back out for another extended drive, covering different terrain and increasing our chances of incredible encounters. Then after dark, everything shifts. On our thermal night safari, we’ll use advanced technology to spot animals that are almost invisible to the naked eye: nocturnal species, hunting predators, and a side of the bush most people never get to witness!

Day 6: (Sept. 9) Today, we lean into the rhythm of the bush. We can head out on optional game drives or simply enjoy the lodge’s swimming pool and let the wildlife come to us. It’s an incredible area for close encounters - elephants along the river, big game moving through, and moments that feel completely unfiltered. This is where it all sinks in. Less rushing, more stillness, and the kind of experiences you can’t replicate. You’ll leave feeling fulfilled after witnessing the “Big 5” animals while on safari.

Day 6: (Sept. 10) After breakfast, we take you to the regional airport for a domestic flight back to Johannesburg, and this is where we say goodbye to Steven. Once you get back to the city, you can spend the night or take your respective flights to head home with a camera roll full of incredible memories and animal encounters that you’ll think about forever.

Meet Your Trip Host: Maria

Funny story…sometimes there’s overlap with small businesses, which is what happened to Steven and I. While traveling in Brazil, I got a message from another “Wild World Tours” and realized they were operating out of South Africa, specializing in safari tours. We immediately got on the phone, realized the potential we’d have if we partnered up, and the rest is history. It felt like kismet that I was already searching for a safari provider to work with in Africa, since this has always been a dream of mine to go see animals up close and personal.

I’m truly looking forward to spending time in the most remote parts of Kruger National Park with a guide who’s been doing this for decades - all the while, he’s helping to protect the animals we’re going there to witness. He’s passionate about conservation, and that is important to me as well. Together, we’ll learn from the best, have some epic barbecues out in nature, stay in unique accommodations, and ride around “on the hunt” to spot Africa’s most intimidating yet breathtaking predators. I hope you’ll join us on a Wild World Tour, the first of many to come!

Meet Your Local Guide: Steven

Steven is a passionate and experienced safari guide based in South Africa, known for his deep knowledge of wildlife. Steven combines years of guiding expertise with an instinctive understanding of animal behavior, leading to unforgettable up-close encounters with Africa’s iconic wildlife.

Before fully dedicating himself to guiding, Steven worked as a big cat handler within the captive wildlife industry. This hands-on experience gave him rare insight into the behavior, movement, and personalities of predators - especially lions and leopards. However, driven by a strong respect for true conservation and natural ecosystems, he made the decision to leave the captive industry behind and focus on wild, free-roaming lions in their natural habitat. This transition shaped his guiding philosophy and deepened his commitment to ethical wildlife experiences.

What’s unique about a safari with Steven is his storytelling, personal approach, and extensive background with big cats. He’s excited to welcome you to South Africa!
